Looks good Doc! A lot of work to get things to where they are no doubt but the resuts are worth it. Have been playing with the beta for a few hours now and haven't found any bugs yet....and don't expect to either.
I wasn't sure about the repository concept but after seeing it in action can give it the big
Can't wait to get it into the full version to help streamline our league _________________ -- Kingaroy High Rollers Poker Tour -- |

Good to hear and thanks for trying it out. I still need to work on error handling, like what if you copy in an invalid betting schedule, or what if you copy in a betting schedule that has the same name as one of the core betting schedules, or what if you delete an audio that is referenced by a theme and then start the tool, etc.
Has anyone started this on a Mac yet? 1 user is having a problem with it, and it's a little hard to debug that without a Mac. In theory, if v2 launches on a Mac, then v3 should no problem, unless I messed up a critical line...either way, it'll get resolved. I just decided to have a down night and watch Entourage/Deadwood rather than debug.
BTW, if you want to see a good street fight, watch last week's Deadwood. _________________ --

I opened the Beta on my MacBook Pro, running Mac OS X 10.4.7. No bugs that I could tell. I created a new 'repository' (I don't like that name FWIW) and a number of sub-folders were created.
I copied some of my image & sound files to the appropriate folders, and re-opened TM3 and the new images were available.
I copied some of my TM2 files (betting schedule, console, chip case, payout structure) into the appropriate folders. On re-opening TM3 they were listed, but did not show any data when selected - e.g. for the blinds schedule, the left hand pane showed the name of the file, but when I selected it the right hand pane was empty.
But I have not had any crash or any hitches in terms of running the app. |

You won't be able to import stuff from v2 yet (in this beta). I'll get that taken care of before release.
That's why you don't have an "Import" option listed in the libraries for each of those _________________ --

Actually, the model is meant to be:
- Start the app
- Create the repository if it doesn't already exist
- Import images and audios via the tool
Dropping them into the repository manually works too. Just that you have to restart the app for them to appear. Just know that you can use the tool to import them. _________________ --

Maybe I am thinking about this wrong, but, when you click the checkbox under the "Payout Schedule Designer" bounties section. "Winner gets own bounties." it leaves "Bounty: $5.00 on All - Winners do not get their own bounties" under the Payout Preview. |

Yep. My summary is backwards. Good find. _________________ --

How do you like your seaweed?
Ok, I find 'repository' clumsy, but haven't come up with anything that really appeals. Databank? Vault? Deck? Gallery?
Yuck. |

First post from the "Dumba$$ Sector"
Only played with it for a short time and it will take some to get going but I got TM2 to work well for me so I'm sure this will be great.
One thing I found was, after importing a large list of sound files, they don't come up in alphabetical order in the drop down list. It's a bit tedious to try and find a file in a large list. Is it something I did wrong? They appear in alpha order in the file.
Thanks

Are they alphabetical by capitals first and then lowercase after that? _________________ --

I'm in Console Configuration. On the Audio tab the files are in alpha order with capitals first then in alpha order with lowercase.
When in the "Themes" tab, trying to assign an audio clip to a simple or time-based alert, when I click in the Audio Clip box in the drop down they are mixed (capitals or lowercase) in no apparent order at all.

Somethin's fishy. Works for everyone else who tried on a Mac. Doesn't work on any of id's Macs.
Hmmm. Ideas? _________________ --

Only thing I can think of is make sure you have a compatible version of the JRE, this was a problem when a friend tried to run it an out of date version. |

Works fine on my G4 Powerbook! Here are a couple items I ran across:
Couldn't 'design' a seating structure. I tried creating a new one and copying the core, but couldn't edit them.
W/O players and buy ins, I couldn't really mess w/ the payout structure.
A lot of the 'Design' windows that open are small, and I end up maximizing them everytime. In some windows, for example the payout structure, some elements are cut off or hidden until I make the window bigger.
The 'REname' button on the Themes tab should read "Rename".
Love the chip designer!
I like the updated betting schedule too!
Thanks for the good work. |
