it seems to me that a ranking method that deducts points specifically for rebuys while also scoring based on net revenue is unsound.
consider:
- the rules of the tournament allow rebuys. players adjust their play based on this. why penalize somone who's operating within the rules of the game?
- a score deduction based only on whether one rebuys is unfair in the very likely event one's score is also based on net revenue, since by definition a rebuy decreases one's net revenue no matter what else happens.
anyone? |

If you are talking about my system, it doesn't use "net revenue". It uses "total revenue". I assume by "net revenue", you mean "net gain".
So, since your entire argument was based on the formula using "net revenue", which is doesnt, I deem your argument moot.
Regarding a penalty a rebuy...let's say 2 people tie for 2nd place in a tournament, one has rebought and the other hasn't. The one who rebought should get less points than the one who hasn't. _________________ --

no, it's actually not related to your method. |

Well, then my point is moot.
