|
|
Here is my problem. I run a tournament with 4 tables and 48 players. When the players come to register, the line can get very long. So I want to get them away from the registration table as quickly as possible so that I can register the next player.
I have searched the posts in this bb and can't find the answer yet. [b]Does anyone know if there is a way, when using the networking features, to have the seating chart visible on the client console. At present, I can display the seating chart on the server, but not the clients. If this feature were available, I could buy-in a player, and then when I get caught up, or there is a lull in registration, I, at my leisure, seat them. This would allow the registrant to walk away unseated, go to the other client and wait to see seating assignment.
P.S. This is an absolutely fantastic program, and the enhancements you make are great!!! |

That's probably the next enhancement...it was really an oversight that it isn't on the client... _________________ --

Not to sound impatient - (in fact, I should see if this is already available) but when will we be able to control eliminations from the client side?

Here's what we do to make the best use of our time... We issue seat assignments manually as participants register, and they walk away with a slip that states their table and seat #.
As their are lulls in registration we seat players in the TM, referencing our registration/seating sheet.
This adds paper to the process, but I've found it works well and we maintain our sanity. We don't have 20 drunk people saying "Where am I sitting, again?"
If we do not meet capacity and need to balance tables we do so in the minutes prior to shuffle up and deal. _________________ "Play Like The Pros Play"

Even with 25-30 semi sober people, the slip of paper inside their baggie of chips just makes like so much easier, for the host and for the player. |

we penalize players $5 for asking for their seating assignment. They buy-in, are told where to sit, and are expected to remember. $5 seems to help just a little |

What happens if I buy in, forget where I'm sitting, and then I don't want to pay the $5 so I just pick a random empty seat? I never "asked" where I was sitting.
I think this would be really funny if this happened to five people at the same time. There are five empty seats but they are all waiting until the other players are seated so they can sit in the last empty seat. _________________ <thwack> NOooooooBODY expects to lose to Rewind!
My chief weapon is the rebuy.

I just overlay the seating assignment on the console. I've usually have the laptop hooked up to the TV for just that reason.

Although and extra $5 for anyone who asks once told would be nice... _________________ Oh, Yeah! Check out the all new TheMiddleClassBlog.com for all of us that aren't exactly "High Rollers"! |
