Hello,
when I start the Tournament Manager, it hangs during the loading screen at the point where it states "Loading User Images"
any ideas?
Thanks! |

Mine is doing the same thing. I edited the folder where it looks for images to "my pictures" which has a whole lot of images in it. I think the program is basically overwhelmed, but I don't know how to edit the tourney manager if it never loads. |

I'd start by taking everything out of that folder to see if that does the trick.
If it starts after that, check the size of the images you are loading.
Images take up a lot of space in memory. _________________ --

Unless you are using a Mac... also I'm Not sure if this matters much in Java.... but...
Sometimes converting images to Windows' native "bitmap" (BMP) format, while taking up more storage space on disk, lets things run more smoothly as the image doesn't have to be "decompressed" after being read.
Even at a "normal" compression factor of 20 an 80K JPEG can take upwards of 3Meg when expanded and placed in memory.... which can be typical of many "desktop backgrounds" on big monitors these days _________________ - Dix |
