I played in a NLHE tourney this weekend that offered a chance to buy into a side bet called a "skins game". For $10 you could purchase a "skin" and if you eliminated another player with a skin, you would collect that persons bounty chip for payoff at the end of the tourney. If you elected not to participate then you could not collect the skin.

In other words, you could only collect the "bounty" if you had bought a bounty chip as well.

Can TM manage this? Only the players with a bounty can collect a bounty?

Not really, but I'm interested.

What happens if you don't buy into the skin game but you knock out a player who did? I assume you don't get their money, but what happens to the money they put into the skin pool?

What do you call it when only 4 players take part?

You took your chip and got your money back. About 18 of the 24 players were in the skins, so there was a good chance to make a little extra.

It was funny to watch the player first look at his cards, then his chip stack, then directly at the bounty chip he was heads up against. The aspect of "staealing" that chip seemed to be of greater value than advancing in the tourney.

This is the type of bounty we usually do at my league, but we don't track it at all via software. I take the tourney buy in money and someone else takes care of that stuff seperately.
