Just a little suggestion. I live in Europe. I don't play for $, but not even for €, but believe me: it's bettere to parameter in the preferences the value symbol.

I'd like to see my € symbol in the software Smile

Actually, I don't specify the currency symbol. The software uses your system's locale setting.

For instance, Rio Rodent lives in England and his install of the app uses the British currency symbol.

Could be that you need to run the .bat file instead of the .jar file.

There is an anomoly (sp?) on some systems... that the doc can explain better than me!!!

On two desktop systems I had no probs, but on my laptop $ signs were displayed instead of £s.

Running the app via the .bat file cured this problem.
