Is there any way to take a "rake" from an individule payout? Our league consists of several satalite events leading up to the championship tournement and the winner of a satalite gets a freeroll for the championship.

Rather than pay for this from the total prize pool, I would like the amount deducted from the 1st place payout (just like Vegas satalites).

The way it is, the rake is the way to go.

For your satellite, take a rake equivalent to the championship entry amount. In the prize pool, create a text prize called something like "Championship Chip".

In the championship, you'll have 2 types of buy-ins:
- $0 buy-in for those using a chip
- $500 buy-in (for a lesser amount if you are small-time) for wildcards

Also in the championship, you'll have an "added prize" equal to the sum of the satellite chip values.

Will this not work?

That will work and is pretty much what I do now.
