Looking for some opinions here.
We run a 12 event league and track scoring for POY and a TOC freeroll at the end of the season.
To mix up our games we run a variety of freezouts and rebuys. We also vary our buyins to appeal to a broader range of players. Our buy ins range from $20 - $100 depending on the format.
The problem we've encountered is that using DrNeau scoring method, 1st place in a 25 person event just got 3.9 points whereas 1st place in a $75 freezout with 18 players got 18 pts.
It would seem there is too much disparity here. I like that the formula accounts for the number of rebuys and add ons, but it seems to put too much weight on the buy in amount.
Any suggestions? Is there a potential "fix" to this issue?
Any insights are appreciated.
