Note to all subscribers...
Heads-up that Dr. Neau’s Tournament Manager v4 is coming out in a few days….and there’s something you need to do before you get it.
This is a warning that v4 requires you to obtain a new license from me. This license won’t cost you anything extra. It’s just that since this is a major new release, I’ve upgraded the minimum required license version (which I’ll do with every major release).
Technical detail you don’t care about: When the app tries to use a license, it verifies that the license version is greater than or equal to the version required by the application. V3 required V3 or higher licenses. V4 will require V4 or higher licenses.
Note that a V4 license will work fine with V3.
If you DON’T get the new license before trying to use V4, the danger is this: V4 will modify some components in your repository as it opens them…to the point where they won’t work in V3 any longer. That’s not a problem unless you discover you don’t have the license you need and get stuck without one right before a tournament.
What you need to do: Send me an email with the hosts you need licensed. I will respond with new keys that will work for both V3 AND V4.
Another note: I’ve put a warning message on the start-up dialog for V4 just in case…but I’m sure someone will miss it.
Now: What’s going to be new for v4? The list is long, but here are highlights:
- New tournament types:
Bracketed Heads-Up
Round-Robin Heads-Up
Round-Robin Heads-Up Fixed-Elimination
Sit-and-Go Series
Sit-and-Go Series “Rising Water”
- Many new console components
Chip Distribution Plan
Chip Leaders (Data Table, Horizontal Marquee and Vertical Marquee)
League Standings (Data Table, Horizontal Marquee and Vertical Marquee)
Match Structure (bracket display)
Payout Schedule (Horizontal and Vertical Marquee) – This is different than the Payouts/Results combo that already exists
Seating by Player (Data Table)
Seating by Table (Data Table)
Static Multi-Line Text
Match Structure Standings (Data Table, Horizontal Marquee and Vertical Marquee)
Current Round Number (for match-based tournaments)
- Ability to “lock” tournaments and other component types to prevent accidental modification by you
- Many other various enhancements and fixes _________________ --

Oh...and as far as I know, this will be the only poker tournament management software that can completely manage heads-up tournaments and multi-match tournaments.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't been able to find anything else that does. Most people result to some bracket creation tool that they print out. _________________ --

"Static Multi-Line Text"
Could you explain this additional feature? The v4 looks great. I'll get my e-mail in asap. Thanks again! _________________ "Get bust livin or get busy dyin. |

You're used to the "Label" widget that can display text of your choosing, normally used for headings like "Buy-ins", right?
Well, this one would give you the ability to have a widget that displays this:
Break Time! Remember, the toilet
is broken so please relieve
yourself in the back yard.
Thank you! _________________ --

Ok. I might actually have to use that text when we have our bathroom remodeled.
I was kind of hoping it was a "flashing" widget. _________________ "Get bust livin or get busy dyin. |
