If you ever run into this...I did last night.
About 1/2 way through our tournament, the laptop the server was running on lost its connection to the network and reconnected. Everything appeared okay, but they we realized the client had lost connection.
I verified that the server had a network connection. The client did also....but the client couldn't connect to the server!!
Well, turns out when the server's laptop lost its connection, it acquired a new IP upon reconnecting! D'oh. _________________ --

I use static IP's outside my DHCP range for my servers, etc. Or set it up on your DHCP server that a certain mac address should always get that IP.
The last one being the best choice if you have that option. |
