The latest release of beta 4 is available. I give you v3 beta 4.6.
Where to get it
You can download the current release here:
http://drneau.com/v3Betas/DrNTMv3beta4.6.zip
When I post beta4.7, it will have a new link...FYI
Note that this beta now has the internal license key that will be in the GA product.
Those users paying for access can contact me directly regarding licensing concerns beyond the beta period.
Can I use this for real??
I actually have been for 8 months...
The underlying architecture is to the point where I'm confident that any data you save from this version will work fine with future versions, so I'd say feel free to start using this for real tournaments....just remember that it is still beta software.
Note: If you've been using the previous betas, you'll get some warnings when you open your repository for the first time. I've added some new data attributes for new features and the app is just letting you know that it didn't find attributes it expected. Review the warnings, but go ahead and load the components.
My intention is that there is no beta 5.X...we're going GA next. Just a bunch of mini-betas from here on out.
What's new since beta 4.5:
Make "Tournament Started" event fire when schedule rolls from pre to play
Implement a client/server savvy jingle bank
League prize pool is not being updated as tournament progresses
Show integers for bet amounts on betting schedule unless otherwise needed
Checklist designer needs a parent
Make property change support private to component classes and provide protected accessors
Investigate and disclose open source correctly
Occasional endless loop error when moving a player back in status
Vertical marquee font editing mixed up
App occasionally goes berzerk when vertical marquees resized
Font selector with display for selecting font of console component
League console components reflect correct point format
New Component: League Title
Give default extensions to exports (XML/CSV)
League standings should be refreshed after league is loaded
Ability to specify the point format for a league
Enable auto-updating of league points on console components
Change the odds calculator buttons from JButtons to JLabels to simplify use
Edits to a payout schedule from within a tourament can't be cancelled
A deleted tournament prevents you from removing a database player
Make player database designer resizable
Toggle for "require unique name" on playerDB doesn't work
Add ability to import v2 player database
Modify the league standings report to only show "Rank" if there is no minimum qualification
Roster player count is sometimes off after deleting a player from the roster
Add options to scoring method for handling ties
New console component: League prize pool
Able to rebuy a player that hasn't bought in
Handle bountyPayType in v2 tournament import
Import v2 tournaments _________________ --

So I was reading the list of new features above and it looks messy. Here's a summary of the major stuff:
- The "Tournament Started" event now fires when your tournament rolls over from pre-tournament to the first level without pausing
- There's a "Jingle Bank"...just a widget that pops up your audio library and lets you play sounds on all systems by just clicking on them
- New console components: "League Title" and "League Prize Pool"
- The league prize pool is not updated at the tournament progresses, rather than just when the league is first loaded (that was a bug)
- The betting schedule table now displays integers by default, but will display decimals if necessary (cleaner)
- You can specify the point format for your league standings, and its reflected in the standings table, the console and any reports.
- Exports now automatically append the file extension if you don't specify it
- League standings are refreshed after league is loaded, rather than you having to refresh them to see them. Also, the console is now updated whenever the standings change
- You can import v2 player databases and tournaments
- Scoring methods now have options for how they handle ties
- Various bugfixes and usability improvements _________________ --
