I am thinking of buying a small cheap laptop like Asus EEPC just for this program.

Do you think a computer like this can do the job?

What will be the minimum V3 will run on?

GRTZ,

You'll need Sun Java 5.

Resource-wise, it *should* actually be less than v2...so if v2 runs well, v3 should run fine.

The timer skips seconds and counts slow when there are at least 5 tables going. The problems seem to decrease as people are eliminated. Anytime I have 60+ people playing, rebuying, moving tables, etc. the iBook lags. I often have to restart my machine during the tournament.

I now do more work hosting as I have to write down people that move, rebuy, eliminated, etc because I never know when the program will slow down and require a reboot. As I reopen the tournament, I have to re-enter eliminations and rebuys, because of the force quit.

v2 this never happened and now I pay more for v3?

Any ideas?

Got me. We've had people run a 1000+ player tournament without issue.

What else is running on your iBook? How much memory do you have?

60 players is nothing.

I know very little about iBooks, but from what I can tell, the most memory one could handle is 576MB, is that right?

1. Downloaded another version 3 and ran the program from the new .jar file
2. Rather than putting my iBook to sleep with the Tournament Manager open in the background, I shutdown the iBook until 30 minutes before the tournament.

Success! We had 50 people for Odd October Odds IV with the iBook and Tournament Manager running strong. No lag!

Let's hope the One Outer event later this month works as well.

Oh yeah. Putting machines to sleep and waking them up will potentially throw anything into a tizzy.
