Hey Doc, here's another curve ball for ya to consider hitting outta the park...

I have a "League Leaders" tournament comming up in mid December (hopefully V3 will be fully functional by then (right?)), and I will be basing starting chip stack partially on points and knockout totals, and also perdefining the total tournament chip value (presentally $50,000, or roughly half of my chip case). I currently have a spreadsheet calculating the chip stacks, but was wondering if TM V3 will have the ability for me to plug those variable stack values in and do the actual distribution from my chip case?

Easy, right?

that would be cool

so ur saying

Max Chips: $50,000 for the table

Player: (a+b)*c = d
a - points
b - elim
c - multiplyer
d - chip count

EX:

Mike - 25pts, 12elm
Mike - (25+12)*10 = $3000 chips

then it would take the chip count and use ur chip case count and take fromthere and divide???

It's actually far more complicated than that, but you have the general idea. I haven't yet quantified it itno a single formula, I currently have 8 or 9 calculations happening to get my results in the spreadsheet.

Here's a list of the things involved:

Total Tournament Starting Chips: $50,000 set value (I could arbitrarally choose any number here)
# of Tournament Qualified Players
# of Points Earned by All Qualified Players
# of Knockouts Earned by All Qualified Players
Fixed Tournament Chip Allocation (I chose 85% of total)
Variable Tournament Chip Allocation (15% of total)
Fixed Tournament Chip Allocation for Points (I chose 62.5% of Fixed)
Fixed Tournament Chip Allocation for Knockouts (37.5% of Fixed)
Variable Tournament Chip Allocation for Points (I chose 62.5% of Variable)
Variable Tournament Chip Allocation for Knockouts (37.5% of Variable)
Each Player's Percentage of Total Qualified Points
Each Player's Percentage of Total Qualified Knockouts

The final result is that all players are allocated $X,XXX in chips plus $YYY for thier League Points and plus $ZZZ for thier League Knockouts.

Currently I have 13 Qualified players, and chip stacks ranging from $4,685 to $3,356, all totaling the $50,000 target. As more players qualify, the total spread will shrink.

Here's a screenshot of the spreadsheet (most data and calculations are off screen):

i was just tinking you have a set of 50000 in chips. but your using calculations to see how many chips each person gets. what does it do with the extra chips? If you have a calc for how many chips a player gets is it just that it keeps open slots untill its around 50,000 in chips or does it actually distrubute 50,000 in chips amont them all?

I actualy have a chip set of nearly $100,000, so the $50,000 is approximately half of my case. This allows me adaquate chips for coloring up players as the blinds increase...

This calculator distributes exactly $50,000 in chips regardless of the number of players...

v3 beta 4.2 has the ability to specify an "additional chips" value per player.

This will be chips they receive above and beyond the buy-in they purchased. It will factor into the total chips in play and therefore also the average chip stack.
