I know that the build date of the current release is built into the help menu, but it might be time to start giving each release a version number in order to keep track of them. I've been doing this myself every time i get a new version (I think I'm up to 15 or so), but maybe, Jeff, its time for something official. ?

The build date = the version number.

Do you need something more than that?

requires me to launch the app to read the menu, whereas "Tournament Manager 2.1.6" makes it apparent in the Finder.

There's a file in the install folder called buildtime. It doesn't do anything but it has a timestamp. That's what I use if I don't want to start the app.

I think it may be a good idea in a way so that when you go to check for an update, it would tell you the version you are looking at be fore you download it.

AS far I myself, I put a poker chipshortcut on the desktop and called it TM v3.8 for the date of March 8.

If you want to check for an update, you can check the bulletin board forum.

I'm trying to avoid having to update the website everytime I put a new release out there.

Amen to that! I think you have a really good system. Not so much from a "business model" standpoint, but from a "i am only human and still a guy who wants to have a life and enjoy a game from time to time" approach. Thanks for having such a kick @ss program and putting it out there for all of us. Be the normal guy, you deserve it!
