I'm going to stop using the app if you remove the scrolling and go to what you are describing!

Crying or Very sad
The horizontal scroll at the bottom of the screen is a very fun and appealing feature...but I'm afraid it may have to go the way of the carrier pigeon.

I've optimized the code as much as possible, but the conclusion I've come to is that there's not a good way to keep the scrolling smooth without the app taking a lot of processing. Making it non-choppy means repainting the scroll 20 times per second or more, and that's causing a lot of screen updates. It's even worse when you have an overlay showing.

Therefore, I'm probably going to a model where the scrolls will update every few seconds with new data.

For instance, you might first see:
"1st - Jeff Neau ($1,000,000) 2nd - JBWilkins ($1,000) 3rd - MaxPower ($100)"

then, a few seconds later you'd see

"2nd - JBWilkins ($1,000) 3rd - MaxPower ($100) 4th - NelsonH ($0)"

and so on and so on.

Thoughts? I'll probably have to do this to the vertical scroll also.

I do see one problem with the new format though. JumperJeff is out of the money. If that's the way you're going to write it, then I want it put back the old way.

But seriously, I'd like the option to specify the number of seconds between refreshes though. 2 or 3 seconds will probably be good but it would be cool to be able to change it.

While I like the smooth scroll, the alternative is just as appealing (horizontal or vertical). I've taken the Horizontal off my console, and put a vertical one on anyway.

I really like the scroll but the chopieness is distracting. I would rather see a smooth refresh. I think a one-name-at-a-time slot machine effect would look good.
