|
|
Is it possible to auto-connect a network client on startup? Something like a command line option that will immediately attempt a connect (ie. ("--autoconnect=192.168.0.2" or similar).
My particular situation is this:
I have a HTPC (MythTV frontend) in my living room connected to a larger plasma on the wall. I'd like to be able to launch TM using my remote from within MythTV (that part is beyond the scope of this discussion, I know), since the keyboard is inconvenient to use. Upon launching, I want it to connect to a pre-specified hostname for it's server, which would be another computer elsewhere in the house.
Thanks!

I kinda like this idea too. The capability of setting some basic settings in switches in a batch file to launch. For example:
Server:
/mode=server /serverstart=yes /serverport=5150
OR
Stand Alone:
/mode=sa
Server:
/mode=server /serverport=5150
(assumes serverstart=yes since is server not sa)
Client
/mode=client /serverip=192.168.1.18 /serverport=5150
This would also bypass the server/client choice screen when launching. |

v3 won't auto-launch, but it WILL:
- Remember your settings
- Auto-reconnect if the connection drops
Also, the app startup screen is more than just a server/client choice in v3. It:
- Lets you select the repository you want to use (remembers the last one used)
- Lets you choose client/server
- Presents you with news updates (like the notification of a new release)
- Gives you the "opportunity" to view the license agreement before proceeding. _________________ --
