Would it be possible to have a Different console for odd and even blind levels?

A few players commented on the lack of this feature in your software after using another software that did have this feature.

I think Tournament Director has that function. Other than looking pretty, it really doesn't offer any functionality. But...

Here's a few more things I was thinking about:

1) Ability to add graphics as background or elements (i.e. a league logo, or the "Dawgs playing poker" as a background pic.)

2) Ability to define multiple configs, and then then ability to assign which console to a round (can be done on the round config screen)

So suppose you have got the gumption to get sponsorship for your tourney. In lieu of that sponsorship, you could show one advertisement in rounds 1, 3, 4, another in rounds 2, 5,6 and then the largest sponsor during the final rounds at the big table!!!

Or - have the graphics able to slide-show through during each round... Now that's fancy!!!

If Doc would deem this unnecessary, no skin off my back, but I'd personally like the to be able to put at least my league logo in the corner - that would be SLICK!!!

Why are people paying attention to the consoles and not playing cards? A neat feature but there are other items that should be addressed before this one.

Okay, I get it.

Just a little background on how I work...getting on my soapbox Smile

In my job with IBM, customers are always asking for features. "Can your tool do this, can your tool do that?" "This other tool has that!!"

What I always try to do it get down to "why is that important?" because usually it's a feature they've seen in another tool that does something they need, but in reality there's a much better way to meet that need.

So, for instance. Someone asks for a different console for each blind level. Turns out what they really want is a way to rotate ads (and other stuff)...and this capability will be there when I implement the console graphic component (which will allow you to select multiple graphics and rotate through them every X seconds).

Well, I'm just babbling now...but you get the idea. Whenever anyone asks for something, I'm going to get down to the root need. Be prepared!

In several casino tournements I have played in, the screen console would change color at each blind level to indicate the color of the deck the user should be pitching for that level. I have seen other home tourney software that emulates this. For my league its quite useless other than eye candy.

DrNeau,

It is (from my player's POV) purely an eye candy thing - but something my players missed once it was gone.
If it is nearing the end of a level and people get caught up in a hand sometimes they miss the audio cue that blinds have changed - seeing the color change cements in their mind that the blinds have in fact changed - when seeing a static color screen all the time - sometimes it is hard to see that numbers have in fact changed on that screen.

Blockhead - in my case I don't play cards - I run tournaments. The opportunity to pass on my players and my own reactions to this software is great and I intend to take advantage of the fact that I can do it. If my suggestions/observations are no good the features just won't get implemented and I have no problem with that - but if no-one suggested any changes then there would be no progress - so how about YOU go play cards and allow others to exercise their free will and make suggestions.
