I'm planning chops for the next release.
There will be 2 types of chops:
Type 1: A fixed-amount adjustment
Type 2: A percentage-based redistibution
So, common scenarios I've run into and how they'd work:
Scenario 1: Pay the bubble boy
Goal of chop: Extract $10 each from 1-9 and give to 10.
Type: Fixed-amount adjustment
Before chop: Spots 1-9 get paid, but spot 10 gets nothing.
How to do it: Create chop specifying -$10 for 1-9 and +$90 for 10.
Scenario 2: Let's split it
Goal of chop: 1 & 2 are tied in stacks and tired. Want to just split winnings.
Type: Percentage-based redistribution
Before chop: Spot 1 is getting 50% of prize pool ($600) and spot 2 is getting 25% of prize pool ($300).
How to do it: Create chop specifying that 1 gets 50% and 2 gets 50% (meaning, they each get 50% of the $900 targeted for their two spots)
These chops would be managed on a tournament's Payouts/Standings panel.
You'd be able to add multiple chops, and the chops could even overlap spots (in which case, the chops are applied in the specified order).
As an example, the same tournament may need to apply each of the above scenarios.
Feedback appreciated. _________________ --

Doc,
Both of those situations sound great for me. Will the bubble boy formula be flexible in case we have a final table of 8?
