i run a league, and i would like to be able to use the league standings to seat players by seed(i.e. best plays are spread out) or so best players are all toghter on one table depending on what kind of league i want to run |

If your best players are that good, they should end up at he final table regardless of their seat assignments. Random seating ensures all players have no forced or unfair advantage over one another. If you want a league full of your best players, just tell the others that you don't think they're good enough to join. Good luck with that. _________________ "Get bust livin or get busy dyin.

kk i understand what your saying, but something else i may like to do is seat the highest scoring players toghter so that the game is kept competive, because it is less likely that all the top player can make the final table |

Whatever works best for your group, sir. I think the current software for seating is adequate unless the Dr. has a different suggestion. _________________ "Get bust livin or get busy dyin. |

I'm gonna shoot this one down also.
Seating should always...ALWAYS...be random.
And if you don't like random, you can seat players manually wherever you like...but I won't be developing any sort of automatic cluster or spread seating. _________________ --

How random is random?
I got a lot of complains with V2 and also with V3 from players that they are always seated with the same persons at a table.
Could it be that random seating has the same sequence so there are minor differences? _________________ Met vriendelijke groet,

We play almost every weekend with 10 to 18 players and up to 3 tables. No problems with v3. I went so far as to seat and unseat players several times before the players arrived just out of curiosity. It looked as random as it could be. _________________ "Get bust livin or get busy dyin. |

Nope.
The seating procedure:
- Grab the list of players that need to be seated
- Iterate until list is empty:
- Pick a random player
- Get the list of low tables. If there is more than one, pick one randomly
- Pick a random seat
- Seat the player
- Remove them from the "unseated" list _________________ --
