I had an idea a couple weeks ago to have a console component that would display the current temperature. You'd supply the zip code and I'd use the Yahoo RSS feed to grab the current temp. Simple! (of course, this would assume you'd have a working internet connection)

While that's cool, there are a few issues:
- Shipping my app with code that gets content from Yahoo probably isn't a good idea if I want to stay in business
- People in the US don't have zip codes
- This is just an example of what can be done

So, what I'm thinking of is a way to let YOU define the RSS feeds that you want to pull data from, parse that data into text and then have console components that display that data on the console. While I won't ship the actual code for the feeds with the product, I'll have examples on how you can configure the app to do it yourself.

Imagine displaying the current temperature for your area. Imagine a marquee that displays current sporting news or scores.

So, what I want to know is this: What other ideas do you have for what data might be able to be pulled?

Here's Yahoo's RSS info page for a starter: http://developer.yahoo.com/rss/

Too late.

I've got the next version pulling down the current temperature along with sports and news headlines.

Fun stuff. Fun stuff.

Hell yes. Although, you'd have to take the steps to enable it before you could disable it.

Could it be possible to update de repository through rss?

Maybe to change the console at home and let the computer at the bar get update once it starts up or update the player list, etc, etc.
