Wondering if some on can help me we ran a monday night league and I cant seem to work out the points system the format we use is
100 pts per buy in per player
1st place 500
2nd place 400
3rd palce 300
4th place 200
5th place 100
minus 50 points per rebuy (maximum 2 per tourney)
50 points per elimination
I am doing this manually on excel at the moment and even though we only have about 10 to 12 players weekly it takes up a bit of time it would be nice for the app to automate this
Your help and thoughts would greatly be apprteciated

Here is a screenshot with your scoring method. You can enter it yourself or send me a PM with your email address and I can send you the corresponding repository file.

Thank you very much. It's always fun to try and build different scoring methods. |

If you really want a challenge, here's my scoring method:
The points system is based upon how many people are in the tournament.
example:
19 total players
1st place gets 19 points
2nd place gets half of that = 9.5 points
3rd place gets half of 2nd (rounded down to nearest 0.5 points)=4.5
4th place gets half of 3rd (rounded down to nearest 0.5 points)=2.0
5th place gets half of 4th (rounded down to nearest 0.5 points)=1.0
lower places get no points if the next higher place (divided by 2) is less than 1 point.
All players also get 0.5 points just for showing up.
Another example:
7 total players
1st=7 points + 0.5= 7.5 total
2nd=3.5 (7/2) + 0.5 = 4.0 total
3rd=1.5 (3.5/2 rounded down to nearest 0.5) + 0.5 = 2.0 total
4th-7th=0.5 (1.5/2 does not give quotient >= 1.0)
Currently, the only way i could think to accomplish this was by a boolian (if/then) formula. The formula is extremely long and i stopped at 18 total players.
I don't know how to get screen shots of my formula, but I could email you the html version of it. |
