Is there an ideal size for avatar pictures to maximize resolution while minimizing computing resources? I remember in v2, large numbers of images diminished performance dramatically, and I'm worried that if i start loading up the image folder in my directory with photos this will likewise go awry.

v3 handles images (and audios for that matter) much much better than v2.

In v2, the images and audios were loaded into memory at startup and stored. So, there was the binary copy of the image, then there was also the copy of that that was currently displayed. PLUS, the scaling mechanism for images in v2 was highly inefficient.

v3 handles this much much better. Images are stored in the repository and read from file whenever needed, and the scaling is much faster.

I actually came up with the new way of handling images and audios about half-way through the development of v3, which is why you still see the size details on the library panels.
