I see that the "current time" on the web site is 9 hours ahead of my local time. I also see that Dr. Neau is in MN, so I'm curious about where the site is hosted? Somewhere in Europe? _________________ JumperJeff

I still see the time zone as WAY ahead of Central time. Anyone else? _________________ JumperJeff

Log in, go to "Profile" and set it current on your profile. (Central time is GMT - 6, I think...) |

I don't mean to be pissy, but we are now referred to "The States". |

And I'm from the Great White North. Yesterday, it was warm and grassy. Today it's back to white. 15 cm of snow overnight. _________________ JumperJeff

Calm down people... did you not see the in my post?
I apologise if my attempt at a bit of humour has upset any of you sensitive souls.
Alan.
Oh, BTW, I have had Americans ask me if I'm Australian... so don't expect me to able to distinguish between Americans and Canadians (unles the Canadians start typing in French of course!) _________________ Needing someone is like needing a parachute... Americans say "about".
Canadians say "abOOt".
Americans say "prah-cess" & "prah-ject".
Canadians say "proh-cess" & "proh-ject".
Canadians append "eh" to the end of every sentence. _________________ --

Here's my beef.
The American Grammy and Academy awards are really world-wide awards. You'll often see non-Americans win awards.
Yet, every other country feels the need to have awards that are specific to that country, like the Junos or the Brit awards.
What's up with that? Should Americans have an "American-only" version of their own awards?? _________________ --

Not even close. AMPAS requires that eligible films be publicly exhibited under the following circumstances:
c) for paid admission in a commercial motion picture theater in Los Angeles County,
d) for a run of at least seven consecutive days,
e) advertised and exploited during its Los Angeles run in a manner considered normal and customary to the industry,
Grammy says nominations must be in "general distribution in the U.S."
Non-Americans win when they sell movie tix & records in the US market.
The Oscars and Grammies are less world-wide than even the World Series.
There's a whole 'nother world out there boys. |
