Do we really need to have the blinds duration value in hours:minutes:seconds? It's a bit awkward when making changes to the values of a schedule.
Why not just have the value in minutes? The only reason I can see for having the full time value is so people can run test tournaments using seconds to evaluate the software.
Nobody needs to have their blind levels down to the second, and if we want really long levels, we can still use 120 minutes for 2 hours...
Dr. Neau? Any comment? _________________ JumperJeff

Jumperjeff,
I agree with you - it is a bit cumbersome at the moment - mainly for me because I sometimes run off of a laptop and having to delete the "zero's" before entering a time in the correct format for each and every blind level.
The seconds and hours are unneccesary - but the underlying problem I believe is the inability to set global values and the fact that you have to delete first and then enter values - the delete first problem applies to all text inputs in this program. |

What are you talking about having to delete first??? On my system, if I double-click on a cell I get an insertion point...
Anyone else?? _________________ --

And Ashaman,
Create one blind level, then change the time. All blind levels created from then one will have the duration of the last level in the schedule. _________________ --

DrNeau,
For some reason (on at least 2 computers) I don't get an insertion point, I double click on a "Duration" cell and it just adds to that cell - If I doubleclick again it lets me modify the 2 digits that I doubleclicked on.
eg 00:00:XX If I doubleclick (for the second time) on the XX then it lets me modify the XX.
If I mess up and leave the final XX off (00:00: ) it says "Unable to parse field: Unparseable date. It doesn't assume a zero figure for some reason.
As to the blind level creation problem - it was just an observation - If I make one tournament with a particular blind structure and then wish to make another one with same structure but different time limits it is just a bit time consuming. (This is particularly true due to the wierdness with the fields not wiping fully when selected.)
While writing this I noticed that If I am editing a level, using the keyboard (arrow keys) is usually how I navigate around cells, and when I press down for example on a duration cell (after editing one prior) and start typing I would have to press the delete button first - it does not auto select all the data in the cell.
In conclusion I'm still all for JumperJeff's Idea of losing the hours and seconds in the duration field. |

Implemented the "minutes only" blind durations for the 4/7/2005 release.
The console remains unchanged. _________________ --
