We had our final qualifier two weekends ago - still need to update the page with the specifics, but here's a story I wanted to share...
It's about midway through the second session - all that was up for grabs was the payouts, since the first session awarded the final free seat at the WCRPL Championship game - and I was sitting on a marginal low stack at my table. I had about 5 BB left to play with, with the button bearing down on me. So I'm out of position. I look at two J under. Thinking this is about the only great hand I had the entire game, I try to steal the blinds by pushing all in. What the heck - it's been a good night. NO money so far to show for it, but, I had fun talking with all the guys at my table...
So anyway, I get the desired effect from the next 2 players - fold-fold, until "player 4" - he calls my all in with his all-in - I have him covered, so I'm not sweating too much - I mean, I have pocket Jacks! That's just more money for me! The player to the left (player 5) of him folds, but without hesitation, the next two players (players 6 and 7) BOTH call ALL IN, each having the next covered! What the heck is going on?!?
It's a 4-way all in. Now I'm sweating - and with good reason. Since my All-in was raised, I await to see my fate - Player 6 flips kings! Player 7 flips Bullets! Uhg. With breath knocked from my lungs, I flip my pocket Js. I was only mildly reassured when the first player to call my all-in flips Q-3s. What was he thinking? He hung his head in defeat and got up to get a beverage.
The flop was no help to anyone - so my only hope was a J. The Turn - a King. My day was over. Player 6 jumps for joy. But after the river was flopped, his joy turned to sorrow - yep the Ace came out to play! Since he was large stack on the table, he lived for a few more hands...
Player 7, in one hand, knocked out 2 players, and delt a crippling blow to a third.

If only that were true, I'd be making money!
