Quick fix to decompress...
Open the file in Windows "Sound Recorder"
Select "Save As"
At the bottom of the save dialog you'll see a "Format" information line with a "Change" button
Click Change and set to:
Format: PCM
Attributes: Whatever quality level you desire but for TM sounds 12,16, or 22Hz 8-bit mono works fine.
In general, the more extreme high frequency info the clip has the higher sampling rate you want, but it will increase filesize.
Another tip for Windows users...
While the file may have a "WAV" extension it still may be in MP3 format. (Media Player will detect that's it's in MP3 format and play it with the proper codec without telling you that the file extension doesn't match the format)
Right click the file and select "properties". Check the "Details" tab and see if the "format" says PCM or MP3.
These can also be fixed by Windows "Sound Recorder" as above. _________________ - Dix |

I would like to pronounce that Dix if my ULTIMATE HERO!
YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
I've been using Dr. Neau since march of last year and I have ALWAYS wanted to use that sound clip. It sounds silly but the reason I started using TM instead of Tourney Director was for the very simple reason that I could play a sound when someone busts out or re-buys. Then when I heard that Willy Wonka clip I just HAD TO HAVE IT. Well I never got the wonka clip but I just kept trudging along. I didn't worry about it. Of course now I use many of the advanced feateures of TM and really like it and would never use anything else. BUT you have solved my original wish.
Dix you are the MAN!
I hereby proclaim that you have a free entry to my tourney. If you are ever in the Washington DC area near the end of the month let me know.
You get NOTHING! You LOSE. Good DAY sir.
What could be better than that? |

No problem Clay... You're on... and I may take you up on that next spring/summer.
Likewise... if you're ever in Maine on a Wed/Fri night or Saturday and want to get into a touney or S&Gs let me know. Sundays are a .25/.50 pot limit cash game.
Your problem with the Wonka file is that it was actually in MP3 format. This happens a lot with Windows users.
Someone will have a PCM (AKA: ".wav") file but want to make the file smaller and will use something like dbPowerAmp or MusicMatch Jukebox to change it to the smaller MP3 format... yet will use the exact same filename and extension.
Since most Windows media playing apps will autmatically detect and use the proper codec (for "user friendliness" & such) Windows doesn't care that the file extension doesn't match the format. Hence, the confusion.
And... gee thanks Doc... just what I needed this morning... visions of Ned Beatty in Deliverance... LOL _________________ - Dix |

As a side bar to this idea...
If you can't do the individual sound for each person what about a different sound for when the players that are "in the money" get eliminated. For instance...I've been using the "You get nothing, you lose...good day sir!" sound and when we get to the point of "being in the $" I change that sound to a differnt file because "you get nothing" doesn't sound right. Make sense? |

I think I posted this before, but even a unique sound setting for the last elimination would be cool... Applause rather than a elimination sound _________________ "Play Like The Pros Play"

Here's the code, let me know what you think...
Code: | if (remainingPlayerCount == 0) {
if (eliminator.startsWith("Jeremiah")) {
AudioCollection.getUniqueInstance().play("Fart");
} else {
AudioCollection.getUniqueInstance().play("Applause");
}
} else {
AudioCollection.getUniqueInstance().play("Elimination");
} |

Only if you were the one who actually was paying for it.

This is a cool idea. If you're going to assign theme songs to players, I think you should play that song when they buy-in too.

I like this list of choices:
- Play random choice from list of standard elimination audio
- Play eliminator theme
- Play eliminatee theme
- Play both eliminator and eliminatee themes |
