I know quite a few of you are Mac users...

I've had 2 Mac users report a slow running timer after getting a tournament underway.

Are you experiencing this problem? Please let me know the details of your system whether you are or aren't. If you are having the problem, please give me details...do you see it all the time, intermittently, only after X happens, etc. Please post this info as a reply to this topic so that others may notice something.

This bug needs to be eradicated.

Never had any trouble with a slow clock.

A couple of thoughts:

1) Is the clock actually dropping time, or does it sometimes
update slow - does it stick at a time for a moment or two,
and then jump ahead, or does it actually lose time.

2) This could be related to processing power. I have a
pretty new 1.5 GHz Powerbook, and have no trouble.
It might be that older macs have more trouble managing
all the java bits and such, and can't keep up with the screen
updates.

I'll try and give a bit of info (but it's a very small bit)

I was over at my Uncle's house and had my copy of TM (on my memory stick). We copied it over to his fairly new Mac (one of those 17" widescreen deals with DVD and lots of stuff).

Everything started out fine. After running a little while, it was taking 2 seconds for the clock to go down one second. By the end of the night, it was taking 8 seconds for the clock to go down one second.

Now I know squat about macs so I don't even know where to begin to look for a problem.

Being a PC kinda guy, this would sound like a memory leak or something that overloads the processor. I don't know if Macs have this problem or not.

Seeing as how TM works perfectly fine on my 366 mhz celeron with 96 meg of ram, I don't think his brand new Mac should have any problem running it.

What do I care, I'm getting my own laptop this year so I can take it with me and not have to worry about this.

I have had the same problem on 2 occasions:

1 the first tournament i ran with your software it was back in feb so its an older model of your program, the time would go fine during the segments but in the breaks its would slow down quite abit, and actually slow down not just update late.

2 just last weekend i had a small tournament with about 10 friends so i downloaded the latest version of the manager when i started it it was fine but then i couldn't get back to the main screen to change the blind schedule (how do you get back to the main console?) anyways so i started a second application of TM to try and figure it out whne i started the second one i beleive was when it slowed down, then i couldn't figure it out so we stopped the tourny and started a new one but the time was still slow so i restarted te machine and re-did it, then it was fine. i have a powerbook G4 laptop, its about 2 years old now. checked my memory and had like 17 gig i think it was.

anyways thats my story.

control click to get a menu and with that menu you can get back to the main screen

Not having any problems with the blind timer, but the Time of Day clock does not increment. When the tournament is started, it reflects the proper time but never changes. Is anyone else using this component in their consoles, and if so, is is functioning properly?

1.5 GHz Powerbook 17"
1.5 Gig RAM
OS 10.4.2
Java 1.4.2
