So what's the answer?

Option 3: Let the user specify manually how many payout lines to pay.
Pros: More flexible.
Cons: Another widget taking up screen space.

I had the situation described in and the league rankings will be correct. But when I use the Edit Event option in the History page there's no way to choose an ordering for a multi-player knockout.

Ran another one last night with the same consoles, i.e. one non-animated gif, and no freezes in four hour tourney. Gonna stay away from animated gifs in TM from now on.
